Some truths about technology and humanity:
Technology empowers a user to become smart. Technology increases the edges for competitiveness in daily performance. However, unless you are so fond of manipulation that you think technology barely equips you with the knowledge about humanity: being painful, being compassionate, being ups&downs, being thoughtful except being selfish!
Whereas
Humanity does not really encourage you to exploit smartness to gain benefit over the other people. Instead, it consistently strives to persuade you to exercise understanding toward other people-grasp their plight, share compassion toward one another, compliment and support one another for co-existence and harmony.
I suppose people need both the technology and knowledge about humanity for quality life and for co-existence.
